Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Risiko Universiti (JPRU) Meeting No. 1/2024 was held recently on 18th September 2024 chaired by YBhg. Datuk Prof. Dr. Azlinda binti Azman, the Director General of Higher Education. The meeting addressed several key agenda items, including the chairman’s opening remarks, the approval of minutes from the 14th JPRU meeting, and the discussion of outstanding matters from previous sessions. Additionally, the updated University Risk Assessment for Q2/2024, which had been presented to the Jawatankuasa Pengarah Universiti (JPU) on June 24, 2024, was reviewed.

The UTM Management Retreat 2024, held from 22 to 24 August at the Swiss-Garden Hotel, convened UTM’s top management to refine key strategic frameworks for the University’s future. The retreat focused on strengthening departmental Key High Impact Results (Key HIRs), Corporate Key Results (KRs), and strategic risks under the enVision UTM 2025 Action Plan (AP2025), while also refining the UTM Strategic Plan 2026–2030 (SP2030). Outcomes from the retreat will inform the final drafts of both plans for consideration by the UTM Board of Directors.

Bringing together UTM’s top leadership, the workshop focused on refining the Strategic Objectives and Desired States of the UTM Strategic Plan 2026–2030 (SP2030). It strengthened alignment between Main Task Force, Faculty, and Top Management aspirations, ensuring a unified and future-ready strategic direction for the University.

The UTM Development of Strategic Planning 2026 – 2030 Phase II workshop advanced the development of UTM’s Strategic Plan 2026–2030 by presenting preliminary findings from the Main and Faculty Task Forces and aligning UTM’s 2030 aspirations with top management. The session also strengthened strategic direction through a comprehensive SWOT analysis across designated clusters, supported by strong leadership engagement.

The workshop reviewed Key High Impact Results (Key HIRs) and Corporate Key Results (KRs), including targets, indicators, costs, strategic risks, and supporting initiatives. It also assessed the progress of the 2024 Action Plan and refined updates to strengthen the development and delivery of the Action Plan 2025 in achieving enVision UTM 2025.
