UTM organized the Strategic Planning 2030 Refinement Workshop to strengthen and refine planning efforts with its strategic objectives and long-term vision. The sessions focused on four key areas: Lonjakan Kebitaraan, Bakat Global, Kemampanan & Kelestarian, and Kemanusiaan & Kesejahteraan

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) took a significant step forward in shaping its Strategic Plan 2030 (SP2030) with a high-impact alignment workshop at Bangi Resort Hotel. The session brought together top management to refine the Strategic Objectives, Desired States, and Initiatives, ensuring alignment with UTM’s vision and mission while integrating the latest developments.

The UTM Press Risk Management Workshop aims to identify key risks faced by UTM Press, develop appropriate risk mitigation plans, and strengthen risk governance to achieve strategic publishing goals. This workshop provides a platform for assessing potential challenges in academic publishing, proposing proactive solutions, and enhancing operational resilience. Through structured discussions and strategic planning, participants will gain insights into effective risk management practices to ensure the sustainability and excellence of UTM Press.

The new Vice-Chancellor has aspired strategies for SP2030. Thus, this workshop seeks to gather final input from the Task Force on proposed revisions and enhancements to SP2030 before final presentation to the University Board of Directors at the Mini LPU Retreat in April 2025.

A comprehensive Risk Management Briefing was conducted on 14 January 2024, aimed at equipping all Pusat Tanggungjawab (PTJs) within Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively identify, assess, and mitigate risks. Led by the Risk Management Officer, the session emphasized the importance of proactive strategies to ensure institutional resilience and operational excellence.

Success Factors and Risk Mitigation for UTM SP2030 Workshop was held on 4th November 2024 at Bilik Tayangan 1, Perpustakaan Sultanah Zanariah, UTM Johor Bahru. The workshop aimed to discuss key success factors for each Strategic Objective (SO) and Desired State (DS) to support effective implementation, while also identifying potential risks that could hinder progress and discussing mitigation strategies. The event opened with welcoming remarks by the Director of OSCA, Assoc. Prof. ChM. Dr. Che Rozid bin Mamat, followed by a briefing on Strategic Objectives (SO) and Desired States (DS) by Prof. Dr. Shamsul bin Sahibuddin. Participants also received guidance on using the Success & Risk Factors Template before engaging in focused group discussions, allowing them to collaboratively address the challenges and opportunities associated with achieving UTM SP2030 goals.
