Prof. Emerita Datuk Dr. Asma binti Ismail, member of UTM Board of Directors, outlined some of the key uncertainties in the current higher education landscape and challenged the universities to react to those changes. Among the top management who attended the session were Prof. Dr. Mohd Shafry Bin Mohd Rahim, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International) and Prof. Ts. Dr. Edy Tonnizam bin Mohamad, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development).

YBhg. Tan Sri Azman Hj. Mokhtar, Chairman of UTM Board of Directors shared his journey experiences titled “Kembara Kretapi – 77 Days, 77 Trains, 1 World. Leadership lessons from around the World in Trains of Thought” with UTM citizens. It was moderated by Dr. Abdullah Mohd Nawi and was also attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Datuk Ir Ts Dr Ahmad Fauzi Ismail, Members of UTM Board of Directors, Members of UTM Executive Commitee, Senior Officials and staff.

The Strategic Planning Workshop for UTM 2026-2030 Phase 1 was held on 15 and 16 May 2024, at Bilik Tayangan 1, Perpustakaan Sultanah Zanariah, UTM Johor Bahru. The objective of this workshop was to gather, identify, and discuss methods for developing UTM’s long-term strategic framework. The workshop was attended by members of the UTM 2030 Strategic Plan Task Force chaired by Prof. Dr. Shamsul bin Sahibuddin.
