Prominent Economist

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Azlan Ghazali is a distinguished economist and academic, serving as the Director of the Malaysian Inclusive Development and Advancement Institute (MINDA-UKM) and a Professor of Economics at UKM-Graduate School of Business. He was the tenth Vice Chancellor of UKM (2014-2018), where he significantly elevated the university’s global ranking. Noor Azlan’s expertise in economics has been widely recognized, having served on the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Malaysia (2015-2019) and the Economic Action Council (2020-2022), where he was also the Executive Director of its Secretariat. A Mason Fellow from Harvard Kennedy School, he has also been honored as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
