To all UTM International Students, Please tell your friends who wish to study in Malaysia Public Universities the following: APPLICATION OF VISA WITH REFERENCE (VDR) • Thank you for choosing UTM. • With effect from 1 January 2014, all foreigners who wish to enter Malaysia to study are required to obtain the Visa with Reference (locally known as VDR) before entry. Please submit the following documents for UTM ISC to process and send to the Immigration Department of Malaysia for approval: No. Documents Checklist (√) 1. Copy/scan passport (all passport pages) 2. Copy/scan UTM offer letter 3. Copy/scan medical checkup (at origin country) 4. Copy/scan passport size photograph (blue background) 5. Copy/scan academic certificate & transcript 6. Copy/scan of Test Report Form (International English Language Testing System) 7. Copy/scan the receipt/transaction slip USD45 8. Address of embassy of Malaysia at your country 9. Sign student copy of Personal/Security Bond as attached (Appendix UTM ISC 001) • We will email to you the VDR upon approval, after which you can proceed to the nearest Malaysia Embassy/ Consulate Office to stamp the visa in your passport. • The VDR approval takes about 30 days to be approved except for those from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and China will take about 2 until 3 months. • Do not purchase your flight ticket until you have obtain the VDR approval. • The Immigration Law of Malaysia do not allow foreigners entering Malaysia on a social pass to apply for student pass.
